Resumo: dc.description.abstractGiven the growing need for alternative products to synthetic fibers to obtain more sustainable and environmentally friendly products, natural fibers are proving increasingly promising when applied as reinforcement in polymer composites. Taking into account the pollution generated by the exploration of oil and derivatives and the increasingly present threat of their depletion, the academic and industrial sectors are progressively investing in alternative solutions to these non-renewable sources like the use of polymers based on plant resources, such as castor oil-based polyurethane resin. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze, based on a brief literature review, the application of plant resources in composites, both for reinforcement and for the polymeric matrix . This process is proving an increasingly present and urgent trend in the most diverse industrial sectors, adding significant gains to both the environment and society, based on the review study of biocomposites reinforced with titica vine fiber and polyurethane matrix derived from a plant resource.pt_BR
