Resumo: dc.description.abstractAbstract Background: Post-laminectomy syndrome (PLS) is characterized by chronic pain and some symptoms associated with lumbar surgery therapy, with an incidence ranging from 10% to 40% following lumbar laminectomy. In this way, the article has the function of analyzing the effects of spinal cord stimulation (SCS) on the pathophysiology of post-laminectomy syndrome. Methods: This article is an integrative review, utilizing the PubMed database, with keywords and Boolean operators combined as follows: "Failed Back Surgery" AND "Spinal Cord Stimulation" AND "Effectiveness." Results and Discussion: In the analyzed studies, patients with PLS, who underwent treatment with spinal cord stimulation treatment, experienced greater pain relief and improvement in health-related quality of life (HRQoL), unlike patients receiving Conventional Medical Treatment, who still faced challenges in functional and social well-being. Conclusion: Neurostimulation improves the functional capacity of patients, enabling them to perform instrumental activities of daily living.
