Resumo: dc.description.abstract | Goal: To explore the relationship between the SARS-CoV-2 virus and Post-COVID Syndrome. Review and synthesize the available scientific evidence, investigating relevant studies that suggest an association between the virus and the development of the syndrome. Methods: This is a narrative literature review. Searches were carried out in the PubMed database, using the descriptors: “Long COVID” AND “pathophysiology” OR “diagnosis” OR “Treatment” OR “management”. 5558 articles were found, of which 31 were used as a data source. Discussion: Studies point to a strong relationship between SARS-CoV-2 infections and the development of Long COVID, manifested by the persistence of symptoms such as fatigue (37%), mental confusion (32%), memory-related problems (28%), attention disorders (22%), myalgia (28%), anosmia (12%) and headache (15%). Final considerations: Rehabilitation and specific treatment are necessary according to the individual's needs, and a comprehensive, patient-centered multidisciplinary assessment is essential in order to identify the signs and symptoms that must be treated early. Furthermore, as important as post-COVID rehabilitation is the prevention of this syndrome, which undoubtedly involves preventing the SARS-CoV-2 infection itself, for which there are vaccines as primary prevention methods, as well as hygiene measures. guys. | pt_BR |
