Resumo: dc.description.abstractIn this communication, we propose an analytical reading of selected excerpts from the work of Qorpo-Santo, produced in 1866, and the work of Edward Lear, from 1846, based on the theories of Max Horkheimer in "Eclipse da Razão". Starting from the construction of the characters, the identification of the self in the other, this mirroring of our identity, this inversion of the being that structures the hybrid subject of Lear and Qorpo-Santo and establishes their literary hybridism, we will investigate the issue of hybridity in the constitution of the subject in the work of Qorpo-Santo; there will be, too, the selection of key texts of Qorpo-Santo (plays and poems) that represent his dramatic poetics and his literary nonsense. Regarding Edward Lear, we will focus on his work and the figurations of the hybrid, the self-other, the eccentric, the subject in constant construction, the subject who is himself and his opposite at the same time, making use of the theories by Emmanuel Lévinas, in "Among Us" and by Gilles Deleuze in "Logic of Sense". We also consider the issue of mirroring, mimesis and the double posed by René Girard in his study of Fyodor Dostoevsky's work in "Dostoyevsky: from the double to unity". Both works deal with issues of formalization and organization of knowledge in encyclopedias and scientific manuals, which characterize nineteenth-century man in England and Brazil and the Zeitgeist that characterized his works. Qorpo-Santo (1829-1883), with his work "Ensiqlopèdia ou six months of an illness", of 9 volumes, only 6 of which have been found, and Edward Lear (1812-1888) with his vast work as the father of English nonsense literature and its botany and zoology manuals interpenetrating his literary creations.pt_BR
