Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis study is the approach to the use of music as an educational resource in Pounds teaching in higher education courses for hearing students. The music helps learning in cognitive development, especially in the semantic aspects and memory systems. The music sets in a form of language and thought. For this reason it is recommended to use it in learning Pounds. Among the various tasks assigned to the teacher Pounds, its role goes beyond the knowledge of the discipline and to undertake means to explain the content clearly and succinctly, as well as the freedom to apply new teaching practices during the classes in order to facilitate and promote understanding and learning of language acquisition. The objective was to analyze the influence of music as an educational resource of the teaching and discipline of learning Pounds in teaching courses and Engineering Production and Civil at a private university in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Questionnaires was used for students who attend the course in higher education institution Universidade Cândido Mendes during the year 2015. The proposal aimed to analyze a significant involvement of students during LIBRAS classes. It was expected from the academic reflection, based on the application of questionnaires to undergraduates participating in Pounds discipline, analyzing its importance in higher education and describe the process of acquisition of pounds through music. A DVD entitled "Popular songs interpreted in Brazilian Sign Language" with songs performed in Pounds with the use of music as an educational resource in the teaching of discipline was produced. We can conclude from this study that the use of music as an educational resource facilitates, motivates, provides concentration and memory, allowing in this way the students will appropriating the language naturally.pt_BR
