Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe treatment of melanoma has advanced significantly, transforming a scenario of low expectations into a model of success in precision oncology. The aim of this study is to develop a study on advances in the treatment of melanoma, identifying therapeutic innovations and clinical results in the fight against skin cancer. The methodological approach adopted in the study was a literature review, using databases of scientific articles that contributed to the theoretical basis of the work. The results indicate that immunotherapy , particularly with immune checkpoint inhibitors such as anti-CTLA-4 and anti-PD-1/PD-L1, has profoundly changed the prognosis of patients with metastatic melanoma, promoting long-lasting response rates and significantly extending overall survival in many cases. Similarly, target therapy, especially BRAF and MEK inhibitors, has proved effective in patients with specific mutations, offering a personalized and more precise approach to dealing with the disease. The conclusion is that therapeutic advances in the treatment of melanoma have had a positive and transformative impact, not only in clinical terms, but also in terms of patients' quality of life. However, the fight against skin cancer remains a constantly evolving field, requiring the continued commitment of the scientific community, health professionals and public policies.pt_BR
