Resumo: dc.description.abstract | This work has the general objective to talk about the activities of reading in a foreign language in the elementary school and how it’s worked in classroom. As reading, is one of the primary factors, in the native language as much as in the foreign language, as says Kleiman (1995). Seeking a better result in the learning of those, was made a research with students of public elementary school, 6os and 7os grade in Curitiba with the following specifics objectives: verify what kind of texts are better for this age, also identify which strategy we can use and how this reading would contribute for learning a FL. Analyzing the student’s profile, the small knowledge of the foreign language is still notice, particularly English, which is the language worked. According to the answers of the students, was started a work of reading. First, we started with names of products and foreign brands. After, was increased the level, with longer readings, such as comic books and then children's stories. In foreign language acquisition, was worked with the authors, Lightbown and Spada (2006), and Ellis (2005). This second author defines that foreign language is any language spoken that is not the native language (mother tongue). With the objective to analyze the internal and externals factors, that take the students to search for the learning of foreign language, Lightbown and Spada (2006), quote Chomsky, which says that the apprentice has an innate ability to learn. The internal matter, depends of the input that the students receives, according to Ellis (2005), the student already brings a luggage of knowledge of the native language, that helps in the acquisition processing. | pt_BR |
