Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis work had as thematic use of media in education, treated in a Field Research, picking up information about the relationship of teachers and students in relation to the new technologies, new media and the digital world, initially sought to reasoning in books, magazines, articles, theses, dissertations, published, printed and internet. In a second moment took place if the field research among the teachers and students of Elementary and Elementary Middle school, a public school of the city of Umuarama, Paraná State. The main objective of the research was to identify the difficulties of teachers in the application of ICTs in the classroom, their insecurities and their expectations the confrontation in the digital era between teacher and student that lives connected and have no more interest in models of traditional classes. It Addressed issues such as pedagogical practice, pedagogical trends and information and communication technologies (ICTs), and digital technology. It is known that the students have already come to school entered in the digital era, but the school is still very short of proposals of insertion of these new media in education, mainly in school researched. Although many of these technologies are present in this school, the process of incorporation of teachers in their classes is still in slow steps, even with the pressure of modernisation in education, many educators maintains the traditional way to "teach", using only instrument/chalk and textbook, some simply by not accepting such innovations. With this study it was possible to realize that in spite of some resistance, the modern technologies are arriving gradually at the school investigated, giving rise to new techniques of teaching, encouraging the students in critical reflection of the reality in which they live, as well as to stimulate and transform the teacher in a tutor, mediator, who walks along with the student in search of construction of knowledge and knowing.pt_BR
