Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis work aims to show the results of a study about the use of written Portuguese by deaf students, focusing on the analyses on the aspectual organization in narrative texts produced by these students. For this purpose, we will consider the written Portuguese as a second language for the Brazilian deaf students. We adopted theoretical concepts concerning the formation of interlanguage in second language acquisition, according to Jake (1998) and White (2003), as well as the theoretical concept of the aspectual class in Portuguese, according to Castilho (1968) and Comrie (1976), and in sign language, according to Finau (2004) and Silva (2010). The corpus for the data analyses consisted of written texts of the narrative genre produced by deaf students who are in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades of a public elementary school, complemented by a questionnaire that aimed to outline the main characteristics of the students. The results show, in general, that the later acquisition of Libras by deaf students influenced the student’s development of written Portuguese. At the same time, they point to the formation of interlanguage in the process of acquisition of written Portuguese, in order to fill in lacks in the target language. In relation to aspectual organization, we realize that the majority of participants used the imperfective aspectual category in Portuguese, demonstrating knowledge about this structure.pt_BR
